Julia Scheeser

She is known, among other things, as the dubbing singer for Belle in Disney’s live-action adaptation of “Beauty and the Beast” and as Jasmine in Disney’s “Aladdin”.

With her fellow musician Elias Kunz, Julia Scheeser immerses herself in music and transforms her feelings into sounds. Together they experiment, sample bicycle bells and use the WG’s distinctive upright piano, which runs like a common thread through the album.

In her songs, Julia processes her own experiences and gets to the heart of the matter with a clear voice and authentic band sound. Her sound is based on German pop influences such as the early albums by “Juli” and artists like Madeleine Juno.

With Mark Smith (Johannes Oerding), she created the song “Alles gut”, in which she raises questions about growing up. The song “Pflaster” deals with a tough break-up with raw, haunting vocals. The bittersweet “Kommen und gehen” also sheds light on the uncertainties of a long-distance relationship.

A particular highlight is the track “Legendär” with Crewkid, which questions the longing for uniqueness in a danceable and self-critical way. Julia describes the album production as a return to her art – perhaps a sign that everything can turn out well after all.

Live performance on Friday and Saturday at the Kokorokon!
